Student Support Services
Study Abroad
The Student Support Services program has always encouraged students to enroll in study abroad opportunities during their undergraduate career. In 2001 the SSS program created a study abroad opportunity tailored for SSS students. It is a three-week study tour at the University of Liverpool for which students can receive UConn college credit. During their time overseas the students go on multiple planned side excursions which in the past have included Berlin, Amsterdam, Belfast, London, Dublin, and so on. SSS provides financial, academic, and social support the students need to engage in the study abroad experience. Since its inception the program has taken an average of 10-12 students annually to Liverpool. In addition, SSS students have also studied abroad in South Africa, Cuba, and Mexico. Plans are currently underway to reinstate the SSS South Africa study abroad tour for program participants as an annual opportunity by Spring 2008.
